Our history

RENU Physiotherapy was founded by Jean Andrews in 2016. Our mission is to get you better by offering gold standard, evidence-based physiotherapy, individualised for your problem.

Our process is built on our years of clinical experience, best practice internationally and uses movement and equipment for better outcomes. We use all of this experience and training to help you move better and renew.

Conditions such as neck and back pain, recurring sports injuries or post operative care allow us to bring all of our academic and professional experience to make a difference.

Jean Andrews (Founder)

BSc (hons), MSc, MMACP, MISCP, MSPWH

Jean has over 20 years clinical experience in physiotherapy, and now specialises in neuromuscolskeletal physiotherapy which means she treats a wide variety of conditions from sprains, strains, aches and pains to persistent pain, pelvic floor dysfunction and sciatica. She founded RENU Physiotherapy under her own name originally, in 2016.

Jean’s subspecialties include women’s health, sports injuries, persistent pain, spinal rehabilitation, post surgical rehabilitation, biomechanical assessment and rheumatology. With a Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy. Jean has continued her professional training in areas like manual therapy, spinal manipulation, movement assessment, cognitive functional therapy, women’s health and sports rehabilitation. She is a clinical tutor to UCD Post Graduate Physiotherapy students.

“I believe passionately in the clinical application and teaching of a comprehensive analysis of patient beliefs, movement and function. I continually strive to bridge the gap between science and clinical practice in neuromusculoskeletal pain.”

Niamh McCarthy

BSc (hons) APPI Post Grad Sports Physiotherapy MISCP

Niamh is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with experience in sports physio and clinical practice. After graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2009, Niamh completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy with the University of Bath and has worked with the NHS and in private practice in London.

Niamh is a certified Matwork Pilates Instructor with the APPI and worked as physiotherapist for adult and academy level Rugby, youth level Superleague Netball and academy basketball. She has a particular interest in sports injuries of the hip and shoulder. 

“I’m a strong believer in individualised rehabilitation. I like to combine treatments in the clinic with smart use of exercise to help my patients, whether they’re recovering from an injury on the rugby pitch or in everyday life.”

Niamh McCarthy

Xavier Boeynaemsen

Xavier Boeynaems is a senior physiotherapist with over 20 years of clinical experience both in Ireland and Belgium. He worked in private practices and in the fitness industry for many years and holds a BSc in Physiotherapy and an MSc Sports Physiotherapy.

Medical exercise and rehabilitation have been a central focus for Xavier’s work for the past 10 years, driven by the desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Being passionate about movement, physical activity and sports, he developed advanced skill in manual therapy, exercise therapy and strength and conditioning which led him to work with enthusiasts amateurs and elite athletes alike. 

Xavier’s main areas of expertise are persistent pain, low back pain pathologies, shoulder issues and sports injuries.

“I aim to be a long-term key partner for people wanting to maintain good health and performance. Communicating and translating evidence-based medicine into applicable and practical tools is the main objective of my practice as I thrive to empower people to remain active in ways meaningful to them”.

Xavier Boeynaems

Louise Willoughby

Senior Administrator

Louise has 15 years experience in corporate administration and graduated from BIFE as a medical secretary before joining us in 2018. Louise brings her high level of organisational skills and friendly nature to her role and is available to assist with patients queries in a timely and professional manner.

Louise is Mum to two teenage daughters and is a keen runner and fitness enthusiast in her spare time.
